CUSP Restaurant La Jolla

As one of the hottest restaurants to open in La Jolla, Cusp Dining & Drinks provides an inviting space to sip, savor and soak in incredible views from every seat in the house. Under the culinary direction of Executive Chef Donald Lockhart, guests can enjoy fresh Coastal Mediterranean fare and vibrant cocktails that encourage social gatherings set to the panoramic views of the Pacific.
Stemming from a family lineage of chefs and cultivators, Chef Donald Lockhart presents seasonally-driven and thoughtfully constructed plates with a variety of elements made fresh in-house, such as soft cheeses, cured fish, oven-baked flatbreads and colorful pastas. Guests can expect a menu that consists of flavorful dishes with beautiful presentation that stay true to culinary basics, while offering a contemporary, almost whimsical touch.
Lockhart’s Toasted Quinoa with Yellowtail provides a delightfully unexpected crunch, with a touch of curry cream for a fresh starter. Pepperoni Rolls with Spicy Marinara offer a comforting and nostalgic beginning to the meal. Entrees packed with robust flavors include Red Wine Braised Short Rib with herb ricotta gnocchi and honey glazed baby carrots, and fresh Pan Seared Corvina Sea Bass with saffron risotto, shrimp, mussels, Spanish chorizo and piquillo peppers.
“At Cusp, we look to cultivate a sense of community through our food,” said Lockhart. “From our relationships with local purveyors who provide us with the freshest ingredients, to our social plates menu which encourages sharing and conversation, Cusp is a place to feel welcomed and celebrate the seasons’ best.”
To compliment Lockhart’s dishes, Cusp’s forward-thinking bar program crafts a new culture of cocktail making. Bartender Nate Howell has created a menu that is a blend of classic cocktails like the Negroni, Sidecar and Daiquiri alongside contemporary combinations using local ingredients, fresh juices and house made cordials. To balance the spirit selection, guests can pick from 60 wines by the bottle and the glass or choose from the collection of hand selected bottled and draught craft beers.
Cusp is open daily for dinner at 5 p.m., with happy hour at the bar offered daily from 4 to 7 p.m. Breakfast is served daily from 7 to 10:30 a.m., and brunch is from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Cusp Dining & Drinks is located on the 11th floor of Kimpton’s Hotel La Jolla at 7955 La Jolla Shores Drive, La Jolla CA 92037. For more information, please call (858) 551-4620 or visit CuspRestaurant.com.
